Lucknow: Air India Express today commenced its direct flight service between Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, and Abu Dhabi, further strengthening air connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) while offering passengers a convenient travel option.
To mark the inaugural flight, a brief ceremony was organised at the airport. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a cake-cutting celebration with the passengers of the inaugural flight. As part of the launch, the boarding pass was symbolically handed over to the first passenger, marking the formal commencement of the new service.
The inaugural flight, IX901, departed from Lucknow today with more than 80 passengers on board. The service will operate three times a week—every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The new route is expected to benefit travellers from Uttar Pradesh, particularly those travelling to the UAE for business, employment, education, medical treatment and tourism. It is also expected to further strengthen trade, tourism and people-to-people ties between India and the UAE.
With the launch of this service, Lucknow Airport has further enhanced its international connectivity, providing passengers with greater convenience and expanded travel options to the Middle East.
